Cotswolds MP up at the Crack of Dawn to Lend a Hand at Cirencester Delivery Office

Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, pictured below with House Administration Supervisor Aidan Burnett-Herd (Left) and Postman Tony Wood (Right), visited the Royal Mail’s Delivery Office in Cirencester early last Friday morning (17 December) to lend a hand in delivering some welcome Christmas post and to see Cirencester’s postmen and women to thank them for their hard work.

Regional Fire Controls Proposals Burnt to a Cinder

Cotswold MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown today welcomed the news that the Government has cancelled plans for regional fire control centres.
 
In a statement to the House of Commons Bob Neill MP, Minister at the Department for Communities and Local Government, announced that the project had been halted.

Snow stops Santa in his tracks on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway

Steam, Santa and snow seemed a perfect combination for the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's  popular Santa Specials which run between Toddington and Winchcombe: that is, until the snow really set in and prevented staff from getting to the railway. 

On top of that, the freezing conditions started to prevent points and signals from working properly.

Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown attended a public meeting last Friday (10 December 2010) regarding the future of Lechlade Library, which could close as a result of budget cuts by Gloucestershire County Council. The meeting came as a result of a petition put together by the Lechlade Women’s Institute.

Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown visited Bourton-on-the-Water Primary School last Friday (10 December 2010) to present a gift voucher during the school’s assembly to Megan Butler, aged 10, for designing the MP’s Christmas Card.
