Local Business Scores for Cancer Research

On Sunday 11 August, Venues Event Management, part of Capita Travel and Events, brought together 25 teams from across Capita plc, to enter a charity football match at Wokefield Park, Reading in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Sodbury Sportive fuelled by Waitrose

Waitrose today announced its support for the second annual Sodbury Sportive and pledged to keep the riders well fed by sponsoring the meal given to participating cyclists at the end of the event.
The Saddleback Sodbury Sportive (1) is a must do sportive for all levels of cyclists. The 2012 Sportive attracted 376 riders and raised £6404 for various Rotary Charities.

Local employees complete Virgin Active London Triathlon for Charity

On Saturday 27th July, a team from Venues Event Management, part of Capita Travel and Events, completed Virgin Active London Triathlon in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Swindon based Alisdair Ross, Chris Goundrill and Rich Edwards took part in the London based sporting event raising £905 and finishing 320th out of 485 relay teams taking part.

Rotary battle to end Polio continues.......

Polio eradication has been Rotary's (1) top priority since 1985. Thanks to Rotary's help, two billion children have been protected from the disease, and the number of endemic countries has fallen from 125 to just four: Afghanistan, Northern India, Nigeria and Pakistan. It is estimated that five million children have been spared from disability and 250,000 deaths have been averted.
