Steve Edwards 500 marathon challenge update including the Dutch marathon

After a very successful 2009, I suppose it was inevitable that something was eventually going to go wrong and slipping over on the icy roads while out training just before Xmas was just that. I didn't know it at the time, but I sustained a hip injury that ultimately cost me nearly 2 months of very little or no running.

Steve Edwards stays close to home in the Cotswolds for his next marathon

A glorious sunny day day in North Gloucestershire on Sunday 21st March 2010 provided the perfect setting for the first ever Cotswold Marathon. This tough but scenic 3 lap course starting and finishing at Temple Guiting, near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL54 5RT was going to be the perfect test for my injury and ongoing effort to regain fitness.

Steve Edwards is presented with his World Record Certificate by Guinness

Steve Edwards has been presented with another Guinness World Record Certificate for running the fastest 10 marathons in 10 days in 35 hours 20 minutes and 45 seconds at the 2008 Brathay Challenge, Brathay Hall, Ambleside, UK from 9th-18th May 2008 

Steve Edwards goes to Luton for his last marathon of 2009 and a total of 493!!

On Sunday 6th December 2009 Steve Edwards went down to Luton to run his 34th Marathon and last in 2009 and his 493rd Marathon overall!!
He has now run 430 of his World Record attempt to run 500 Marathons by 2012, all in under 3 minutes 30 seconds. Well done Steve.

Steve Edwards follows the sun to Lanzarote for this week's marathon

Steve Edwards chased the winter sun for a birthday treat and ran in the Lanzarote Marathon 2009 on Sunday 29th November 2009. His marathon fame went before him and he had a great write up on the Marathon website:-

Steve Edwards goes up North for the Newcastle Town Moor Marathon and comes Second

Steve went up North on Sunday 22nd November 2009 to run in the  Newcastle Town Moor Marathon.

Steve Edwards takes on one of the toughest Marathons - the Snowdonia Marathon

On Saturday 24th October Steve went to North Wales for the Snowdonia Marathon.
The inaugural Snowdonia Marathon was held in 1982, and was conceived as a dramatic alternative to the numerous city and town races becoming so popular.

Steve Edwards runs his 10 Marathon in 12 weeks and still achieves a sub 3 hour time!

In his world record quest Steve has now run a total of 426 sub 3hours 30 minutes marathons and so has 74 to go by 2012. He is well on the way!
Last Saturday, 18th October 2009, he ran in the Abindon Marathon and achieved his 26th sub 3 hour time and this in spite of it being his 10 Marathon in the last 12 weeks.
