Cotswold kickboxing courses hit home with 90% pass rate

A six-week sports course run by Cotswold District Council alongside Gloucestershire Police and Sir William Romney's school in Tetbury has proved a huge hit with a 90% pupil pass rate.

Steve Edwards goes to the West of Ireland for Marathon no.465 (and his wife runs too)

On Sunday 22nd March 2009 Steve Edwards travelled to Galway to take part in the Connemara International Marathon which is a day of racing around a very scenic part of the West of Ireland. The day comprises of a Half Marathon, a Full Marathon and a 39.3 mile Ultra Marathon.

Draycote Water Marathon - Sunday 22nd February (No 463)

This was the same 5 (and a bit) lap undulating course around Draycote Water as last year organised by Kenilworth Running Club. I arrived expecting the mild sunny conditions we had on Saturday to continue today, however I think everyone was in for a bit of a shock.

Free sport sessions for disabled children and young people come to the Cotswolds

An initiative to keep disabled children active and involved in a range of sports will be launched by Cotswold District Council and its partners later this month.

Free multi-sport sessions will start at the Cotswold School in Bourton-on-the-Water on January 28th, where children aged seven and up can come along and take part in several different sports

Marathon Number 461 comes and goes but watch this space for the world record challenge

Cotswolds based Steve Edwards finally completed Marathon number 461,The Hastings 100th Anniversary Marathon 1908 - 2008, on Sunday 14th December 2008, after the disappointment of the cancellation of the Luton Marathon the previous weekend.
