Steve Edwards completes the Flora London Marathon - Marathon Number 452

Sunday April 13th Cotswolds based Steve Edwards added another marathon to his name in his world record challenge to complete 500 marathons by 2012. He completed the big one - The Flora London Marathon 2008 - in 3 hours, 2 minutes and 35 seconds, well within his challenge time target. Well done Steve.

Learn how to help repair historic Cotswold drystone walls

People are being offered the opportunity to learn the traditional rural art of drystone walling in the beautiful surroundings of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). For the sixth year running the Cotswolds Conservation Board, the organisation that exists to conserve and enhance the AONB, is providing walling courses at locations across the 790 square mile protected landscape.

Weekly Cotswold garden waste service starts April 21st

Cotswold District Council’s new weekly charged-for garden waste collection service will start from Monday, 21st April, and food waste will also be collected across much of the District from that date.

Counting up to 500 Marathons- Number 451 is completed on target

Cotswolds based Steve Edwards completed Marathon number 451 on Sunday April 6th.
Steve only had to go to Taunton, Somerset this time, to complete marathon number 451 in his bid for a world record of running 500 marathons by 2012 in an average time of under 3 hours 20 minutes. Only 49 more races to go!
The Flora London Marathon is next on the list.

Another World Record Challenge for Cotswold's Steve Edwards- 10 Marathons in 10 Days

Friday 9th May to Sunday 18th May 2008 - Brathay, Ambleside in the Lake District
Steve Edwards our intrepid marathon runner from Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds is not satisfied with challenging for just one World Record in running 500 Marathons in an average time of under 3 hours 20 minutes. He is challenging for a second World Record in May by running the fastest ever cumulative time for 10 marathons in 10 days on a accurately measured UK Athletics certified marathon course.

Cotswolds MP has grounds for optimism on saving Stratton and Beeches Post Office Branches

Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown today spoke with optimism about the future of the Post Office branches at Stratton and The Beeches which had been earmarked for closure.
