‘Escape to the Cotswolds’ for half term and Halloween fun

Families across the Cotswolds are invited to join the Cotswolds Conservation Board for a free fun activity day at ‘Escape to the Cotswolds’, the discovery centre for the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at Northleach.
Taking place on Friday, 29 October, there will be a range of activities on offer for all ages, including:

Eighteen dry-stone wallers from across the region took part in this year's annual Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Open Dry Stone Walling Competition held at Tetbury on Sunday, 3 October and organised by the Cotswolds Conservation Board along with the Cotswold branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association.

Park for free at this years’ Moreton Show

Great news for those planning to visit what is believed to be the UK’s largest one day agricultural show this year.  A new travel system is being implemented for this years’ Moreton Show to ensure that visitors can spend even more time at the action packed event.

Jacob Sutton's solo show - Farm Life - opens at The Dollar Street Gallery in September

Jacob Sutton’s solo show opens at The Dollar Street Gallery, 34-36 Dollar Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire from 7th September to 2nd October 2010.
This exhibition will feature a series of farm scenes from around six farms where Jacob Sutton has been painting for the last three years including Wick Court Farm at Arlingham in Gloucestershire.

Moreton-in-Marsh Show brings the magic and mystery of the past to life

It may be nearly 2000 years since the Romans first took the Cotswolds by storm, but this year the Romans will be returning in their full glory to entertain the crowds at the UK’s biggest one day agricultural show. Moreton Show this year is being held on Saturday 4th September and those of us that love watching programmes such as Time Team, Robin Hood and Merlin are in for real treat.

Cotswolds to benefit from new conservation funding

Launch of new Cotswolds dry-stone walling grant scheme.
The Cotswolds Conservation Board and National Grid have announced a brand new £300,000 grant scheme available for landowners, farmers and local communities in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
