Westonbirt Arboretum plants special oak to get ready for the London 2012 Games

With 100 days to go to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the

Forestry Commission's National Arboretum at Westonbirt is getting ready
to welcome the world by planting one of 40 'Coubertin oaks' - trees
grown from acorns taken from an oak planted in 1890 in Much Wenlock in
honour of the founder of the modern Olympic movement, Pierre de
Coubertin.

Visitors to Westonbirt, The National Arboretum this spring can follow two new seasonal trails from 1st March.

The trails at the Forestry Commission managed National Arboretum will offer insight into the heritage landscape and the flowering trees and
wildflowers within it.

Ebrington Gardens Open Day - Sunday June 5th

Ebrington & District Gardening Club is organising a Gardens Open Day on Sunday 5th June from 10.30 to 17.00.
The Club was the winner of a Gold Medal at Hampton Court Flower Show in 2009 and 2010 plus “Best in Class” in 2009.

Snowshill Manor and Garden Second Hand Book Weekend

Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th November 2010, 12noon-4pm
Book bargains feature alongside the usual menu of delicious cakes, hot drinks and homemade lunches at Snowshill Manor Restaurant next weekend.  Staff and volunteers are busy putting the finishing touches to their two-day second hand book sale which will take over half of the restaurant.
