Westonbirt, The National Arboretum is gearing up for the huge numbers who travel each autumn to see the world famous show of colour.

Traditional Skills revival in Westonbirt's Woodlands

A project using traditional skills to restore ancient woodland will start a new phase this autumn at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, in Gloucestershire.

The new cycle is part of a long term coppice restoration and management plan for Silk Wood; the 147 hectare (363 acres) ancient woodland in the Forestry Commission managed arboretum in Gloucestershire.

A record number of visitors attended this year's Festival of the Tree at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum.

Over 22,000 adults, concessions and children visited over the seven day event, which culminated in an auction of the Sculptree giant wood carvings on Bank Holiday Monday.

Guided Tour of Snowshill Manor and Garden with Maurice Heritage

Nine Circles Kobudo Martial Arts Display at Snowshill Manor and Village Fete

Saturday 17th July 2010, 12noon–4pm
Gloucestershire-based martial arts group Nine Circles Kobudo visits Snowshill on Saturday 17th July for an afternoon display of traditional Japanese martial arts.  And it is also one of the biggest days for the village community – the annual fete, taking place on the village green, a stone’s throw from the Manor.
