North Cotswold Hunt Point-to-Point - Easter Monday 2008

Monday 24th March - First Race 1.00 pm - Paxford, Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire GL55 6XS

This Annual Event is held on the Bank Farm,Paxford Course, which opened in 1997, and features permanent buildings with changing rooms for jockeys and a weighing room. Car Parking is plentiful and the viewing is excellent. It is a very good day out with some excellent racing.

Post Office Consultation Campaign Heats Up

Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown today spoke of the sheer level of opposition to Post Office closures following the series of public meetings he held across the Cotswolds.

Seven public meetings organised by Cotswolds MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown took place this weekend in Rendcomb, Stratton, Weston-sub-Edge, Blockley, Guiting Power, Aldsworth and Meysey Hampton to discuss the closure of these Post Offices and those in the surrounding areas.

Cotswolds MP Organises Public Discussion on Post Office Closures

Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP for the Cotswolds has arranged a series of public meetings for all affected residents to discuss the proposed round of Post Office closures in the Cotswolds.

The meetings will serve as an opportunity for people to hear more about and air their views on the effects of the closures, to learn more about the consultation process and to hear the options available to residents.

Mr Clifton-Brown is urging anyone with an interest to attend: “We need to work as a community to respond to the challenges put before us by these announcements

Post Office Ltd Delivers Crippling Closure Programme

Final details of the Post Office Closure Programme, made public on Tuesday 5th February 2008, have been described by Cotswold MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown as more devastating than the Beeching Railway cuts of the 1960s.

"For a constituency as rural as the Cotswolds the level of proposed closure will be a disaster.

The 37th Guiting Festival

The Guiting Power music and jazz festival has been bringing music to the Cotswolds for 37 years.

The Cotswold Farm Park was Britain's first ever Farm Park having been established in 1971.

Amongst their many rare breeds they have had great success in providing pigs for both TV and films. They recently supplied an iron-age pig for the BBC series - We Built Britain. "They wanted a pig typical of the Elizabethan era to set the scene for the story.
