Staff and Student Win International Research Award

A postgraduate research student and his supervisors have received an international award for their research from the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (AAHPERD).

Steve Munson studied for an MSc by Research, and his research was recently published in the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport Journal.

Rotary battle to end Polio continues.......

Polio eradication has been Rotary's (1) top priority since 1985. Thanks to Rotary's help, two billion children have been protected from the disease, and the number of endemic countries has fallen from 125 to just four: Afghanistan, Northern India, Nigeria and Pakistan. It is estimated that five million children have been spared from disability and 250,000 deaths have been averted.

Know Your Blood Pressure awareness day

Chipping Sodbury Rotary is holding its annual Know Your Blood Pressure event (formerly known as Stroke Awareness Day) on Saturday 20th April 2013. The event will be located at 61 Broad Street Chipping Sodbury with sessions running from 9.30 am until 3.30 pm. Members of the public attending the session will be seen by a doctor or a nurse with each blood pressure check taking around 5 minutes.
