Steve Edwards completes marathon 464 with a possible world record

Draycote Water Marathon - Sunday 22nd February (No 463)

This was the same 5 (and a bit) lap undulating course around Draycote Water as last year organised by Kenilworth Running Club. I arrived expecting the mild sunny conditions we had on Saturday to continue today, however I think everyone was in for a bit of a shock.

Marathon Number 461 comes and goes but watch this space for the world record challenge

Cotswolds based Steve Edwards finally completed Marathon number 461,The Hastings 100th Anniversary Marathon 1908 - 2008, on Sunday 14th December 2008, after the disappointment of the cancellation of the Luton Marathon the previous weekend. 

The Luton Marathon is cancelled so Steve Edwards has to wait to complete Number 461.

Steve Edwards was due to run in the Luton Marathon last Sunday 7th December 2008 and that was to have been Marathon Number 461. However the race was cancelled because a car had crashed in the icy road conditions, blocking the course. However these Marathons come thick and fast and this Sunday coming Steve will be running at Hastings.

Steve Edwards goes to Italy to complete Marathon Number 460

Only 40 more marathons to go in steve's world record attempt to run 500 marathons by 2012, all in an average time of less than 3 hours 20 minutes. Marathon 460 was the first of three marathons in 15 days for Steve. He will have certainly earned his Christmas festivities!

Marathon Number 459 completed in Cornwall - the Cornish Marathon

Sunday November 16th 2008 and Steve Edwards completed Marathon Number 459 by running the Cornish Marathon which was celebrating its twenty fifth anniversary. This Marathon, which is run from Pensilva near Liskeards, is organised by the East Cornwall Harriers and is a very demanding course.

Steve Edwards runs the Snowdonia Marathon-Marathon Number 458-just 6 days after 457

Steve ran the Snowdonia Marathon on Saturday 25th October 2008 and it was Marathon Number 458 in his world record challenge. The Snowdonia Marathon, now in its 26th year, was voted "Best UK Marathon" in 2007 and can attract over 1500 competitors. Steve ran with Bib number 459 for Bourton Roadrunners.

Steve Edwards completes marathon 457 and runs through injury pain

On Sunday 19th October 2008 Moreton-in-Marsh based Steve Edwards ran marathon number 457 - The Leicester Marathon in the City - in his world record attempt to run 500 marathons by 2012 at an average time of under 3 hours 20 minutes.

Marathon Number 456 is completed - only one week after Number 455

Steve Edwards has completed Marathon Number 456 - The Great Langdale Marathon in Cumbria - on Sunday 14th September 2008, which is only one week after he ran Marathon Number 455 at Wolverhampton. There is no rest when you are running for a world record.
Two Marathons in two weeks is enough to test any runner, let alone a world record runner!
