Paul Weller is the first artist to sign up for the Forestry Commission's ForestLive concert programme, with summer dates for 2013 in spectacular woodland locations in East Anglia and the West Country.

Academics Rocking On in New Book

From Courtney Love to Petula Clark, Madonna to Grace Jones, two experts at the University of Gloucestershire are launching the first academic book to tackle the subject of ageing and popular music. Dr Ros Jennings and Dr Abigail Gardner's Rock On: Women, Ageing and Popular Music is officially launched today (October 4) with Ashgate Press (Folk and Popular Music series).

Heavenly interpretations for oboe and harp at Chipping Sodbury!

Sodbury Jazz Festival heads for Gold

With the final line-up now agreed, the Sodbury Jazz Festival organisers are looking forward to a golden weekend at the end of September.
Heading the big names are Acker Bilk, Jacqui Dankworth and Terry Lightfoot. Both Jacqui and Terry have appeared only once in this area over the past five years, so their attendance at the festival is eagerly anticipated by fans.

Maltese Charm at The Cotswold Show 2012

The Cotswold Show was held last weekend at Cirencester Park. A ‘BBC introducing music stage' was introduced to the event for the first time this year with a line-up of great acts. Amongst the guest performers was ‘Sophie', an 18 year old Anglo/Maltese singer/songwriter who is currently on tour in the United Kingdom to promote her new single.
