GWR's Magazine "The Cornishman" wins top award

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Trust's magazine The Cornishman took centre stage at Toddington station on Sunday 27 October 2013.
That's because the magazine's volunteer editor, Steve Standbridge, accepted the Heritage Railway Association's (HRA) 2012 award for ‘Best Magazine', presented by the Association's president, Lord Richard Faulkner of Worcester.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway Trust's (GWRT) magazine, The Cornishman, has won the highly prestigious Heritage Railway Association (HRA) ‘Best Publication' award for 2012.

The award will be presented by Lord Richard Faulkner, President of the HRA and a patron of the GWR to editor Steve Standbridge at the GWR on Sunday 27th October.

Thomas and Friends chuffing to the Cotswolds!

Two days of family fun as famous railway stories are re-lived on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Thomas the Tank Engine - creation of the late Rev Awdry who wrote the first of his timeless railway stories 70 years ago this year - takes over the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway over the weekend of 21 and 22 September 2013.

Geoffrey Clifton-Brown comments on Kemble-Swindon Track Closure

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, ever coming up with interesting ideas, is running what it calls ‘rail cruises' on Friday evenings throughout August. Colin Fewell, commercial director of the railway, commented: "We reckon the view from our carriage windows is as good as you can get from a train anywhere.

Heritage Diesel Horsepower at GWR's Spectacular

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway will be celebrating all things diesel with its first Heritage Diesel Weekend, Friday to Sunday, 26th to 28 July and two freshly-overhauled locomotives are expected to be making their debut appearances in preservation following long and complex overhauls at Toddington.

You wait for ages then 30 come at once.

There are plenty of buses to catch at the GWSR Bus Rally on Sunday 14th July. Sunday will see the car park at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railways Toddington station crammed with buses. That's because the railway, which is enjoying a highly successful 2013, will be running its popular Bus Rally.
