Louis Latour Wine Tasting at Edward Sheldon Ltd, Shipston-on-Stour

Edward Sheldon have had a great start to 2009 with two tastings already. Firstly with Nick Buck from Te Mata Estate in New Zealand and then Lyne Marchive from Domaine des Malandes in France. Now Rachel Longstaff is visiting them from the fantastic Maison Louis Latour.

Maison Louis Latour is one of the most highly respected Domaines in Burgundy. Renowned throughout the world for the quality of its red and white wines, the company has built a reputation for tradition and innovation. They have produced some of the finest Burgundian wines but have also pioneered the production of fine wines from outside Burgundy.

The Latour family have been viticulteurs sine the 17th century, slowly building up to 125 acres and they have the largest Grand Cru property in the Cote d'Or with a total of 71.58 acres. The vineyards extend from Chambertin in the north to Chevalier-Montrachet in the south and these are solely planted with the two noble grape varities - Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Maison Latour is unique in Burgundy in that it is still to this day family owned and family run, having passed down from father to son over ten generations. Louis Latour ships its wines to over 60 different countries worldwide and will be found on some of the most famous dining tables around the globe.

Tickets are £15.00 per person to include all wines and delicious canapes made by Beverley Webb
