Ebrington exhibits again at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

Ebrington and District Gardening Club are very proud to have again been accepted to exhibit at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show from Tuesday 7th July to Sunday 12th July 2009.

In 2007 the club exhibited in the "Window Box and Hanging Basket" Competition and won a Bronze Medal with "Feathered Food Fantasy"

After a year's absence they have been accepted with an entry in the 2009 "Inspiring Spaces" Feature entitled "Strawberries and Cream"

This is a tremendous achievement by a small North Cotswold village Gardening Club with nearly 100 members.

This year's exhibit has been masterminded by Barry and Sally Sabin and has been designed by Liz Hale Garden Designs.

The "Inspiring Spaces" Feature has to be based upon a total surface area of only 2m x 2m in size with a maximum height of 2m and the exhibit must be viewable from all four sides.
The Feature is to inspire the show visitors on how to brighten up a difficult small space(such as a small paved area, a small front garden or a balcony) through the art of container or companion planting.

The "Inspiring Spaces" Feature has again been sponsored by Forest

The Club exhibit - Strawberries and Cream is built around a tennis theme (with Wimbledon having just started and strawberries and cream being so English and so Wimbledon - fingers crossed for Andy Murray this year!!) with a tennis umpires chair being surrounded by a tennis post and net, tennis shoes, and a tennis raquet, all laid out on real grass and complemented by a cream churn.
The exhibit is of course filled with flowers including clematis, surfinia, petunias, mimulas, strawberries, begonias, impatiens, climbing rose and allysum.

It will look wonderful and we wish the Club and Barry, Sally and Liz the very best of luck in their efforts to win gold this year.

Club members Barry and Sally Sabin have their own Nursery in Ebrington where they specalize in Hanging Baskets which are to be found hanging throughout the Cotswolds and beyond.
They also sell home grown Basket and Patio plants, Bedding plants and Potted plants plus a large selection of Vegetable Plants.
