Entries for the Moreton-in-Marsh Show’s Home and Garden classes are filling up. The Home and Garden section is the one area of the Moreton Show which allows local people of all ages and skill levels to enter what they have produced with their own hands during the year.
The wide range of classes spans everything from handicrafts, home cooking, art, photography, floral displays, wines and WI to an ever-growing and permanently popular schoolchildren’s section. The entries are all displayed in the Home and Garden Marquee on Show day - which is worth a visit whether you’ve entered or not.
New in Home and Garden for this years Show is a redesigned Floral Displays section, a new trophy for the highest aggregate level of points in the Honey classes, and a schoolchildren’s Potato in a Pot class.
Although the deadline for the Potato in a Pot class has now passed, there was a fantastic response with nearly 80 entries received. However parents who are still looking for a fun and constructive way to keep their children entertained during the summer holidays still have plenty of opportunities - including creating a miniature garden, decorating a fruit or vegetable or submitting ‘anything you have made’.
Keen competitors for all Home and Garden classes are encouraged to enter online before the closing date of Friday 21st August, before the Show is held on Saturday 5th September. Online entry is available at www.moretonshow.co.uk and all online entrants will be entered into a draw to win a Family Ticket for the 2010 Moreton Show.
