IMEX helps Swindon's Prospect Hospice

Malmesbury-based IT firm IMEX has shown its charitable side by continuing with its support for local charity Prospect Hospice.

The firm, which provides IT support and consultancy to businesses of all sizes, working in many sectors, first contacted the Wroughton-based charity in 2010, and has continued to provide a free IT support solution for the hospice since then.

For support director Keith Cleverley, the link was first established following his mother-in-law's care at the Hospice in 2009.

"During that time I was impressed by the care that the hospice gave, and felt that I would like to be able to do something to contribute to this excellent charity," he said.

"Initially I was keen to raise funds, but then realised that my company could bring some very practical support, in particular for the IT manager, who runs the entirety of Prospect's IT function singlehandedly."

According to Prospect's IT manager Geoff Bryan, the support from IMEX has been gratefully received: "Ours has been a strong partnership," he said.

Keith Cleverley also has personal targets to continue to raise money for the hospice, ranging from donations from friends and family he gives IT support to, and through taking part in the 2012 Swindon Half marathon.

Prospect Hospice's dedicated end of life care last year reached more than 1,600 people living with cancer and other serious conditions in Swindon, north Wiltshire, and also in Fairford and Lechlade in Gloucestershire. It cared for people in their own homes, in care homes, at the Great Western Hospital and at the Hospice in Wroughton. It supported their families and friends too. Information on all of it's services for patients and families, which are provided free of charge, can be found at

Prospect Hospice is a registered charity, and it costs more than £5m to provide the care their patients and their families depend on each year. They receive just 30 per cent of their income from statutory organisations such as the NHS, the rest they must raise themselves. Information about the many ways you can support Prospect can be found at

For thirty years Prospect has provided the only dedicated end of life care service for the 300,000 people living in their community - bringing care, comfort and confidence around the clock every day of the year. Their care has expanded and evolved over the years, and their aim as they look to the future is to bring more care for patients and practical and emotional support for their carers and family
