JOG-LE: John O'Groats to Lands End Sponsored Cycle Ride - will they make it?!

The Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury are organising sponsorship for a team of well known local personalities and members of the Rotary Club, (1) who have decided to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End, a total of over 1,000 miles in aid of Charity.

President of Rotary Mr Anothony Bourne commented, "This will be an amazing achievement for Tony Sarafian a retired GP, Iain Dunnett a retired anaesthetist and Bill Bennett, an agricultural engineer, for their average age is around 72 years".

The trio start at John O'Groats on Tuesday 17th April and hope to finish at Lands End in about three weeks, however to avoid too much traffic they are not taking the most direct route. They plan to travel, without assistance, staying in Youth Hostels and B & B's, at their own expense, to ensure that all money collected will go directly to the supported charities.

The monies raised will be shared between; BRACE (3) (funding Alzheimer's Dementia Research); BrAMS~Bristol & Avon Multiple Sclerosis Research Centre (4) based at Frenchay Hospital; and 1st Chipping Sodbury Scouts & 1st Westerleigh Guides.
