Chipping Norton Amateur Astronomy Group

The group was founded in January 2005 with just 4 amateur astronomers with the intention of forming an informal focus group for anyone interested in the stars and space . By April 2008 we had over 35 very keen stargazers on our contact list - a fantastic response and growing all the time .We aim to meet regularly indoors ( although not exclusively)where astronomy talks and demonstrations take place in an informal and sociable atmosphere (ie . without feet and hands freezing !)

Since July 2008 we have moved on to a subscribed status which now allows us to ensure that we can plan events both now and in the future and ensure that we can operate in a professional manner for the benefit of our members and the general public.

Whilst we have a strong and dedicated committee the emphasis is always on the fun and enjoyment that astronomy offers and we welcome everyone to all of our meetings. There is no requirement to have any astronomical knowledge, equipment or experience (but if you have, bring it along), all you need to bring is your interest and enthusiasm(and possibly a warm coat!) - the stars and universe above Chipping Norton will do the rest.

Whatever your level of interest , please get in touch and it will be great to meet you

All events subject to weather
