Ebrington, a traditional North Cotswold village, is celebrating the Jubilee in style over three days with activities for all the family. All villagers and friends are welcome at the events.
In advance of those three days there is a fund raising event being held this Saturday 5th May in Ebrington Village Hall GL55 6NA. New Age Kurling is the name of the game - Ebrington always does something different!!
This is an evening for the whole family and it starts at 6.30. Entrance is £3.00 including light refreshments. No charge for Primary School Children.
For the three days in June the following events have been planned:-
Saturday 2nd June
From 12.30 onwards - meet under The Oaks for guided walks around the new Parish Boundary Stones - walks from 2 miles to 6 miles to suit all abilities
From 14.00 onwards - coach trips around the Stones for those who cannot or don't want to walk
From 15.00 onwards - meet back at The Village Hall for tea and cakes
16.00 - official unveiling of Ebrington Central Stone by the Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire
19:00 - Jubilee Recital by the brilliant mezzo soprano, Cerys Jones, returning by request, songs and readings associated with our British Monarchy in St Eadburgha's Church, followed by wine and canapes. Tickets £10.00
Sunday June 3rd
11.00 - Bicycle Gymkhana on the Recreation ground. Fun for all the family. Bring your bikes! Dust off those bone shakers and get practising those special moves!
18.30 - Jubilee Celebration Service in songs and readings in St Eadburgh's Church
Monday June 4th
12.00 noon - 16:00 Bonanza Village Picnic Party with live jazz band on The Clouds field. Bring your own picnic, drinks, rugs etc. Park on the Recreation ground
19:00 Village bonfire on Charingworth Hill
23.30 approx Beacon lighting on Ebrington Hill as part of the national chain of beacons
