Prime Minister chooses Hook Norton real ales for Number 10!

On Thursday 4th July the Prime Minister, David Cameron held a BBQ in the garden of Number 10 Downing Street for conservative MPs and specifically requested for Hook Norton real ales to be served at the event. Excitedly, the Cotswold Hills based brewery, Hook Norton took the call from Number 10 which revealed that the range of real British ales are a firm favourite of the Prime Minister, so of course, they did no more than arrange for enough beer and glasses for 200 thirsty guests to be delivered to the iconic building.

The beer was delivered by local Hook Norton Brewery drivers, Simon Glidden and Lewis Clarke who were invited to stay at the BBQ to serve and had an amazing time discussing just why the Hook Norton beers taste as good as they do. Both said that it was a pleasure to serve the Prime Minister and his conservative colleagues British beer, but there was even more to come for them both after the last drop was drunk. Simon and Lewis were then rewarded for their efforts with a behind-the-scenes tour of Number 10 - an experience they'll never forget!

Handcrafted in the Cotswold Hills since 1849, Hook Norton remains one of only 32 independent family-run breweries. With the founder's great great grandson, James Clarke, still at the helm, Hook Norton continues to offer a wide range of award winning ales, including Old Hooky, Hooky and Double Stout.
