Enjoy a colourful look at the past with Cotswold Museum session

Have a colourful look at the past when the Corinium Museum hosts a fun family action-packed workshop on Sunday March 8th.

Rainbow Science, which is connected to National Science and Engineering week, is a family learning event which will look at the fascinating use and meaning of colour in times gone by.

Among the fascinating facts on offer, people will find out that in Tudor times it was law that only the Royal family could wear the colour purple, while in 19th Century, Ancient Egyptian mummy wrappings were used as a paint dye.

There will also be plenty of simple yet fun scientific experiments and a chance to get creative and paint a colourful abstract picture inspired by music – what colours can you hear?

The workshop will run from 2.30pm-4pm and the cost is included in the admission price for the museum. Booking is essential and children aged 5 upward are all welcome.

Please contact The Corinium Museum, Park Street, Cirencester on 01285 655611 for more information or further details.
